Automotive portal "AutoVzglyad" chose five most anticipated crossovers, which are unlikely to fail in the Russian market in 2016.
5. Lada Xray
Sales of the five-door hatchback will start in February 2016. Although the Lada Xray is positioned as a crossover, it will not have an all-wheel drive version. Under the hood of the AvtoVAZ car, there is a 123-horsepower engine, and a robotic gearbox is responsible for comfortable driving in the city. It is still unknown how much the car will cost customers.
Initially, the price was announced at 575 thousand rubles, but remember Lada Vesta, the cost of which was higher than expected. Given that there is a crisis in the yard, a car more expensive than 600 thousand rubles is unlikely to be bought up as "hot cakes."
4. Chery Tiggo 3
Chinese car manufacturers are cutting their lineups in the Russian car market. Therefore, the inexpensive crossover Chery Tiggo 3 should be in demand, it will have few competitors. In the pluses of the model: independent suspension, improved sound insulation and hydraulic power steering.
Sales of Chery Tiggo 3 will begin in July next year, at an estimated price of 412 to 535 thousand rubles, depending on configuration.
3. Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
Sales of a new generation of Japanese crossover are scheduled for the first half of 2016. The car will have two engine options: a 3.0-liter gasoline V6 and a 2.4-liter turbodiesel with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The developers took care of the maximum environmental friendliness of their creation, so the amount of emissions from the car meets the Euro-5 standard.
The price of the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport model is still unknown, but the current versions are sold for 1,659 million rubles.
2. KIA Sportage
Second place in the list of the most anticipated crossovers went to the fourth-generation Korean crossover, whose sales are scheduled for the first half of next year.
Whether this model will “shoot” or whether it will fail - depends on the price, which will be revealed closer to the beginning of sales. But it is unlikely to be low, given that under the hood of the Sportage in the basic configuration is a GDI engine with a capacity of 132 hp, and in the advanced - a turbocharged T-GDI of 177 hp.
The Sportage design is not typical for KIA vehicles. Novelty has acquired a massive grille and combined optics of the head light. In addition, the designers increased the rigidity of the body by 39% and equipped the base version with as many as 6 airbags.
1. Volkswagen Tiguan
The most anticipated crossover in 2016, Tiguan, the German concern will release an updated model with a more aggressive design and massive body contours. Russian motorists will be able to purchase it in the second half of 2016. Volkswagen Tiguan plan to assemble in Kaluga, which will positively affect the cost of the car.
Realizing that the car wasn’t alive as a single gas, the developers equipped the novelty with diesel and gasoline engines (from 115 to 220 hp), coupled with a mechanical 6-speed gearbox or 7-speed “robot”. In the basic configuration, rear-view cameras and parking sensors are provided.
The estimated price of the new Volkswagen Tiguan is 1,113 million rubles.
