Leading quality standard - what is it?
The Russian quality system standard (GOST R) for baby diapers establishes toughened requirements for their characteristics:
- Breathability of the top cover layer.
- Vapor permeability of the lower coating layer and reverse sorption (i.e., the ability to retain moisture inside): from 240 grams of liquid absorbed by the diaper, no more than 6 grams should be released back.
- The presence of a moisture indicator and elastic sidewalls with Velcro, or an elastic belt.
This standard, of course, is not mandatory, but products that do not meet it cannot be an applicant for the right to be awarded the Russian Quality Mark.
